Overview

Washington University Glomerular Disease Symposium is planned and implemented by physicians in the Division of Nephrology and Division of Anatomic and Molecular Pathology. This live in-person activity is designed for practicing nephrologists and nephrology trainees, and may be of interest to rheumatologists, internal medicine physicians/trainees, advanced healthcare practitioners, and nephrology nurses. 

This 12-hour live course will provide an update on recent advances in pathogenesis and treatment of glomerular diseases. The format will consist of lectures, case presentations, panel discussions, interactive breakout workshops, and question & answer sessions. The goal of this activity is to enhance knowledge, skills/strategy, performance, and patient care.


Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be able to:

  1. Discuss the role of renal histopathology and serologic markers in the diagnosis, risk stratification, and management of glomerular diseases.
  2. Summarize recent advances in pathogenesis and define optimal treatment options for various glomerular diseases based on current evidence.
  3. Describe the role of genetic testing in management of patients with glomerular diseases.
  4. Understand the complexity in diagnosis and treatment of glomerular diseases in pregnancy.
  5. Identify the challenges in the management of glomerular diseases when evidence is lacking.
