Overview
Current Concepts of Spine Care is designed and implemented interprofessionally by physicians, nurses and physical therapists. This activity is designed for orthopedic surgeons, pediatricians and primary care, family practice and internists, nurse practitioners, physical therapists and may also be of interest to physician assistants. This course will provide education through lectures and question & answer sessions. The activity will highlight best practices in current spine care. The goal of this activity is to enhance knowledge, skills, performance, and patient care.

Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be able to:

  1. Describe the treatment options for adult spine deformity, including both nonoperative and operative approaches.
  2. Analyze patient selection criteria, optimization processes, and postoperative care plans to ensure successful outcomes.
  3. Identify the relevant anatomy and evaluate the nonoperative and surgical treatments available for cervical radiculopathy.
  4. Discuss the current updates, challenges, and emerging opportunities in the treatment of cervical myelopathy.
  5. Demonstrate knowledge of minimally invasive approaches for spine fusions by outlining specific techniques and procedures.
  6. Evaluate nonsurgical treatment options for various spinal conditions.
  7. Categorize different types of spinal tumors and explain their pathways for metastasis.
  8. Assess the use of endoscopic spine surgery as an innovative technique for treating complex spinal pathologies.
  9. Explain the importance of preoperative optimization of patients and its impact on the success of spinal surgeries
