Objectives

At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be able to:


  1. Identify signs and symptoms of HHT in patients.
  2. Diagnose patients with HHT using the Curacao diagnostic criteria for Hereditary Hemorrhagic Telangiectasia (HHT).
  3. Diagnose HHT patients using genetic testing.
  4. Develop a comprehensive care plan for diagnosed HHT patients, including screening, management, and treatment.
  5. Screen HHT patients for visceral manifestations of HHT, such as those in the brain, lung, liver, and gastrointestinal, following the HHT International Guidelines.
  6. Manage symptoms and complications of HHT in patients, such as anemia, epistaxis, GI bleeding, stroke, brain abscess, heart failure, and pulmonary hypertension.
  7. Provide appropriate treatments and/or procedures to HHT patients.
  8. Advocate for HHT, spreading awareness of HHT within their practice and/or professional community.
  9. Participate in discussions with newly diagnosed HHT patients to help them understand their diagnosis and providing educational materials through https://curehht.org/understanding-hht/diagnosis-treatment/hhtguidelines/#diagnosis-checklists-0
