Overview

The CREST Workshop is planned and implemented interprofessionally by clinical research methodologists, biostatisticians, and clinician-investigators. This activity is designed for clinical researchers, research coordinators, and biostatisticians but may be of interest to physicians, nurses, and allied health professionals. This 2.5-day course will provide education through lectures, group discussions, and one-on-one consultations. The activity will highlight best practices across clinical research design, data management, and analysis. The goal of this activity is to enhance knowledge, research skills, performance, and patient care.

Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be able to:

  1. Select and apply appropriate clinical study designs to evaluate specific clinical questions in practice.
  2. Critically appraise and interpret the strengths, limitations, and risk of bias of different study designs when evaluating clinical literature
  3. Discuss and apply principles of randomization, blinding, and control groups to assess study validity and clinical relevance.
  4. Differentiate outcomes research from other clinical study designs and determine its appropriate use in informing patient care and decision making.
