Overview
The 14th Annual Missouri Baptist STEMI Symposium: From Door to Discharge: Elevating the Patient Journey is planned and implemented interprofessionally by physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and EMS . This activity is designed for specialties and professions in the target audience but may be of interest to specialties invited to attend, but not on the planning committee. This 6.5-hour live activity will provide education through lectures, case presentations, panel discussions, and question & answer sessions. The activity will highlight best practices across emergency and cardiology. The goal of this activity is to enhance knowledge, skills, strategy, performance, and patient care.

Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be able to:

  1. Discuss evolving strategies and technologies for the treatment of ST elevation myocardial infarction
  2. Discuss issues causing patients with STEMI to delay seeking medical care
  3. Discuss EKG findings in STEMI, including misses, STEMI mimics, and use of artificial intelligence for EKG interpretation
  4. Discuss the management of cardiogenic shock in the cath lab, including basics of hemodynamic support with axial flow pumps and ECMO
  5. Discuss hemodynamic support in the CCU update on pharmacology and management of hemodynamic support devices
  6. Review new ACCAHA guidelines for management of acute coronary syndromes
  7. Discuss the critical importance of cardiac rehab and improving participation with the cardiac rehab navigator program
