Overview
WashU Gastrointestinal Oncology Advances & Therapies Meeting is planned and implemented interprofessionally by physicians, pharmacists, nurses and physician associates. This activity is designed for medical oncologists, hematologists oncologists, radiation oncologists, surgical oncologists, internists, hospitalists, general and family practice physicians, pathologists, pharmacists, nurses and physician associates. It may also be of interest to nurse practitioners and other health professionals who care for patients with gastrointestinal cancer. This meeting will address practice gaps in the evidence-based, multidisciplinary management of gastrointestinal cancers through lectures, case presentations, panel discussions, and question and answer sessions focused on gastroesophageal, gastric, pancreatic, hepatocellular, cholangiocarcinoma, and colorectal cancers to improve staging, treatment selection, and coordination of care. The activity will highlight best practices in the management of GI cancer. The goal of this activity is to enhance knowledge, skills strategy, performance, and care of patients with GI cancer.

Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be able to:

  1. Assess and implement evidence based strategies for the evaluation and multidisciplinary management of locally advanced gastric and gastroesophageal junction (GEJ) adenocarcinoma
  2. Evaluate and apply evidence based, multidisciplinary approaches for the diagnosis, staging, and management of patients with early stage hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC).
  3. Assess and integrate evidence based, multidisciplinary strategies for the evaluation and management of patients with locally advanced or borderline resectable pancreatic cancer.
  4. Evaluate and implement evidence based, multidisciplinary approaches to the assessment, staging, and management of patients with locally advanced rectal cancer
