Overview

The Annual St. Louis Live Therapeutic Endoscopy Course and Fellows Course 2026 is planned and implemented by physicians and nurses for gastroenterologists, surgeons and nurses. This course may also be of interest to residents, fellows, physician associates, and nurse practitioners who specialize in therapeutic endoscopy. This live course will provide education through lectures, hands-on endoscopy lab, audience question and answer, and presentation of pre-recorded therapeutic endoscopy procedures. In addition to the Washington University Interventional Endoscopy Section faculty, nationally known therapeutic endoscopists at peer institutions will serve as faculty for the hands-on endoscopy lab, provide didactic lectures, and discussion of complex cases. The goal is to highlight best practice techniques across the broad spectrum of therapeutic endoscopy in order to enhance knowledge, skills, performance, and patient care.


Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be able to:

  1. Discuss the latest approach to endoscopic diagnosis and incorporate in patient treatment plan of Barretts
  2. Review the basics of endoscopic submucosal dissection and its current indications
  3. Discuss the endoscopic management of benign and malignant biliary diseases
  4. Outline and incorporate the role of EUS, particularly in avoiding unnecessary ERCP
  5. Understand role of interventional EUS in biliary and luminal applications and ide
  6. Review the basics of POEM and Z POEM and G POEM procedures and its current indications
