Survivors of Childhood Cancer Symposium

The Survivors of Childhood Cancer Symposium is planned and implemented interprofessionally by physicians, nurses, social workers, psychologists, and researchers. This activity is designed for oncology physicians, advance practice providers, nurses, social workers, and psychologists and may be of interest to physician associates, physical therapists, and registered dietitians.

This symposium will provide education through live presentations, panel discussions, and Q&As. This activity will highlight best practices in survivorship care for adult survivors of childhood cancers. The aim of this activity is to increase awareness, knowledge, skills, and performance in addressing the late and long-term needs of individuals who experienced cancer as children. The topics will enhance knowledge and skills in key areas related to the lifelong management of survivors, including cardio-oncology, fertility, mental health, and self-advocacy, to improve patient care and outcomes.

1. Describe the long term care needs of childhood cancer survivors.
2. Implement risk based screening and surveillance recommendations to identify and manage common late effects of childhood cancer treatment.
3. Integrate survivorship care plans and patient centered resources into clinical practice to promote self advocacy, care coordination, and lifelong follow up.
4. Incorporate the services and referral resources of the Lifelong Outcomes Clinic into care plans to optimize longterm survivorship outcomes.
