Overview

The 6th Annual Siteman Lung Cancer Updates is designed and implemented by physicians, nurses and pharmacists. This activity is designed for medical and radiation oncologists, hematologists, pathologists, radiologists, pulmonologists, thoracic surgeons, internists, hospitalists, general and family practice physicians, nurses, and pharmacists but may be of interest to physician associates and other health professionals who care for cancer patients.

This one day course will be a clinically practical, translationally ambitious day that follows the patient journey from detection and tissue acquisition through curative-intent therapy, metastatic disease, resistance, and emerging therapeutics. Short evidence updates are paired with multidisciplinary discussion, case-based application, and a focused debate so that the program feels integrated rather than siloed. This comprehensive program is designed to equip healthcare professional with practical, evidence-based knowledge to improve their skills, performance and enhance patient care across the lung cancer spectrum.


Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be able to:

  1. Apply current evidence to select and sequence targeted therapies for patients with NSCLC based on molecular and clinical characteristics.
  2. Evaluate the role of neoadjuvant and perioperative systemic therapy in the multidisciplinary management of resectable NSCLC.
  3. Incorporate emerging therapeutic strategies into the management of patients with SCLC.
  4. Apply current approaches to diagnosis, staging, and biomarker testing to guide treatment decisions for patients with NSCLC.

Course Information:  Wednesday night prior to the course, an email with directions to the online syllabus and onsite information will be sent to the email address utilized to register for the event.

Location: Eric P. Newman Education Center (EPNEC), 320 S. Euclid Ave., St. Louis, Missouri 63110.  It is recommended that you bring a jacket or sweater as meeting room temperatures are difficult to regulate to everyone's preference.
